Our wooden toy boxes and keepsake boxes are truly unique to SWI Plus. Our wide range of children’s toy boxes has been inspired by our own three children who have tried and tested this beautiful product.
We have developed our box collection with a completely child focused perspective, ensuring that they are appealing, practical, hard wearing and safe to use. We now offer the largest and best selection of wooden boxes on the internet.
Safety First
A child’s toy box must be safe for a child to use. An appropriate safety mechanism is essential to avoid a heavy lid dropping down onto a child An essential slow closing lid device (not to be confused with a simple lift up lid stay) is fitted to all of our children’s wooden toy storage boxes. As standard we double up on our slow closers to ensure the maximum amount of protection is always there. Also included is a carved recess in the front of the box as an additional safety feature.

Construction & Finish
Our wooden toy boxes are constructed from the finest sustainable redwood pine and are produced from start to finish in the UK by master crafts-people.
We offer a choice between a hand waxed finish or a hand painted finish. If you prefer you can even have a combination of the two (for example see our painted cream toy box with natural wood finish lid).

We have three wooden toy box sizes available:
If you have the space, why not choose one of our extra large toy boxes measuring 104cm x 60cm x 59cm(H).
Our standard large toy box measures 92cm x 49cm x 45cm (H)
Our smaller keepsake size wooden box measures 68cm x 39cm x 31cm (H).
Personalised Carving
Our wood finish toy boxes and painted wooden toy boxes can be customised by adding personalised carving.
We offer a choice of three font styles which are shown in the pictures below. Our personalised wooden toy boxes make a perfect lasting birthday, christmas or christening gift. Your child’s name is expertly carved into the wood (up to 8 letters are included as standard for all personalised toy boxes with extra letters available at cost price).

We prefer to use Little Greene’s water based acrylic eggshell paint especially for use on children’s wooden toy boxes. This is certified safe for children’s rooms and furniture. We offer a large choice of hand painted box colours and combinations. A colour chart or sample pots can be ordered directly from the Little Greene website.
Our hand waxed pine wooden toy boxes are available in a smooth pine finish or in the popular rustic rough sawn finish. You can also choose from a medium brown or a dark brown hand wax finish.
These wooden toy boxes are a real item of furniture and will fit into your home perfectly. You can even match your toy or blanket box to your SWI Plus TV or AV stand. A solid wood toy box is as much at home in a living room as in a child’s bedroom.
